Activity Description

This full day Cape Point, Peninsula & Kayak Adventure gives the keen adventurer a guided tour around the most majestic peninsula on earth. We collect you at the Clocktower pick up point in the V& A Waterfront. Passing the millionaire beaches of Clifton you will travel along the Atlantic coastline and down into the fishing village of Hout Bay. Then it’s onto the breathtaking Chapman’s Peak Drive where we stop for magnificent views of Hout Bay and the Sentinel.we continue down through the equestrian crazy Noordhoek with its stunning white beach. You travel onto the tip of the Cape Peninsula at Cape Point, passing the townships of Masiphumelele and Ocean View and traveling along the wild Scarborough coastline.

We head into the Cape Point area and travel off the beaten track to show you an untouched part of the Reserve where time stands still. We walk along the coast and see wildlife foraging naturally. From here we head for Cape Point where we walk up to the viewing area, with 360 degree views of both sides of the Cape Peninsula. We then head for our spectacular outdoor picnic spot on a secluded beach where you will enjoy a sumptuous, tasty and healthy vegan picnic lunch and juice.

After lunch, you will head down to Seaforth beach where we will Paddle with the Penguins, Cape fur seals and endangered bird species amongst the granite boulders and kelp forests as you become immersed in this unique marine ecosystem.
The last stop is a visit to the picturesque Kalk Bay fishing village, where you are exposed to the life & hardships of the local fishermen. Travel over the scenic Boyes Drive, stopping at the Shark Spotters hut to learn more about the white sharks.

We return you to the drop off point at the Clock Tower Drop Off zone after an incredible wildlife adventure!

This adventure is set in the Cape of Good Hope & the Boulders sections of the Table Mountain National Park and, both are designated conservation areas. The area is known for its spectacular landscapes, species rich fynbos, prolific wildlife including the African Penguin, Chacma Baboons,Angulate Tortoises, Eland Antelope, Cormorants, Cape Fur Seals, Oystercatchers, Kelp gulls. Southern Right whales,and a number of endemic shark species can be encountered. Your qualified guide is a very knowledgeable conservationist and a highly experienced sea kayaker. Our Kayaks are very stable, easy to paddle so no experience is needed, and all equipment and training is included.

Itinerary

Activities in this adventure are based on a general routine and flexible depending on group preferences, and weather conditions etc. This itinerary is based on the full day tour:

We pick you up at the Clocktower precinct in the V& A Waterfront at 08h00 and travel out of the city to the Table Mountain National Park
Walk amongst the fynbos and track wildlife
Reach the summit at Cape Point to witness the fairest cape of all
Enjoy a traditional West Coast picnic on a secluded beach
Paddle with the Penguins in the beautiful Boulders Marine Protected Area as we learn about this threatened bird species (in case of wind, this will be a guided Penguin walk)
Visit the quaint Kalk Bay fishing village
Learn more about White Sharks
We return you to your drop off point at the Clock Tower Precinct at the V & A Waterfront at 17h00.
